Roster For Mortal Kombat 1 May Have Just Leaked

In a few months, Mortal Kombat 1 will be released, but the complete cast is yet unknown. We learned during Summer Game Fest that Kenshi and Goro are returning, but apart from that, we only know about the typical cast of characters, like Kitana, Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Mileena, etc. Ed Boon teased some callbacks with a tweet showing MK4's line-up. However, 19 characters who will purportedly be on the roster of MK1 have just been shared by a leaker, who may have modified that.

@thethiny on Twitter released the entire list and claimed that it comes, "from the people who gave us the trailer before it was released, along with the people who told us story mode details, and information that Ed Boon confirmed yesterday."

  • Havik
  • Reiko
  • Nitara
  • Li Mei
  • Ashrah
  • Sub-Zero
  • Scorpion
  • Smoke
  • Reptile
  • Liu Kang
  • Kung Lao
  • Raiden
  • Shang Tsung
  • Kitana
  • Mileena
  • Tanya
  • Sindel
  • Johnny Cage
  • Kenshi
24 characters will be in the complete cast, therefore there is still room for five more on this list, according to @thethiny. The fact that this is the primary lineup and not the Kameo roster raises the intriguing possibility that a number of 3D-era characters may make a triumphant comeback as fighters. That also implies that they won't be just cameos, but rather will play bigger parts in the narrative.

We'll include the less well-known choices in case any of these names are unfamiliar to you. Havik is referred to as the Cleric of Chaos and is said to sow the seeds of the disorder rather than being either good or evil. He made his debut in Mortal Kombat: Deception and was last available in Armageddon. He is originally from the Chaos realm, as you would have guessed. The next character is Reiko, who made her Mortal Kombat 4 début, perfectly fitting into Boon's tease. In the original timeline, Reiko served as a general in Shao Kahn's army.

Another Deadly Alliance debut is Nitara. Although they haven't been seen since Armageddon, they did show up in the 2021 film. She is a vampire who spent the whole of the first novel attempting to keep her realm isolated from the Outworld. Lin Mei, an Outworld warrior from a hamlet that Shang Tsung and Quan Chi enslaved, made her debut in Deadly Alliance and last appeared in Armageddon. She also made her first appearance there. Ashrah, who made her acting debut in Deception, comes last. She is a demon hunter in addition to being a Netherrealm demon. Observing a pattern? Several references to the 3D period.

The names of the others are presumably familiar to you because they have just lately been published. However, Armageddon, which was many of these characters' final outing (apart from a few fleeting, playable cameos in the narrative mode), debuted way back in 2006. It has been a while. Fans of the 3D period, however, are in for a treat if this lineup is real.
