You've probably played one or more games from the Yakuza series, which has a long history. Fans may expect more of the zany brawler-style action that has grown synonymous with this series. A new game is in the works if you haven't heard about it before. A fresh trailer for Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name debuted at Summer Game Fest. Players will once again assume control of Kazuma Kiryu, the main character of the series, in this game.
We play as Kazuma Kiryua in this game after he pretended to die and changed his name. Our protagonist has been going about his daily life as Joryu in an effort to protect his family. A new enigmatic character, nevertheless, has surfaced and is attempting to force Kazuma Kiryua out of hiding. Kiryu must return to the life of crime and battle his way through the horde of hostile foes who will stand in his path since this new person poses a new threat.
Although information about the game is still a little scant, we do know that it will take place between Yakuza 6 and Like A Dragon. This would prepare the Yakuza game series for Yakuza 8, which according to a report by MP1st, would once again include Kiryu as the main character. We'll simply have to wait and watch how the story develops and where Kiryu is left when this episode's credits roll. Thankfully, we already know when we can purchase this game.
On November 8, 2023, Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is expected to be made available for purchase. The PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC will all support the game when it does launch. Again, if you were unable to watch today's Summer Game Fest webcast, you can still view the game trailer for this title in the above-mentioned video.
While we wait, we'll probably learn more about the game and learn whether any recaps are intended to bring new players up to speed on the plot. In any case, we'll have plenty of time until November to have some of these questions answered.
